Chick Pea and Tahini Dip

Good as a dip with pita bread, vegetable sticks; as a spread on sandwiches; as an accompaniment to grilled fish and meat; as a salad dressing.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 400g can chick peas, rinsed and drained
  • 1 tablespoon tahini
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • salt and pepper


  1. Place chick peas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic salt and pepper in food processor. Whiz for 15 seconds.
  2. Stop processor, scrape down the sides. Turn processor on again and start pouring cold water through the hole in the lid. Process until a smooth consistency
    is achieved. If too thick, add a little more cold water. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
