Myotape works by restoring nose breathing; vital for healthy sleep.
Myotape is a specialist mouth tape. It is designed to safely restore the habit of healthy nasal breathing day and night. Suitable for adults, and children older than four years, this simple breathing aid improves sleep, boosts health and enhances sporting performance.
MyoTape is easy to apply and remove.

If you’re new to mouth taping or Buteyko, you’re in the right spot. Simple tools, simple habits, real benefits. MyoTape was created by Patrick McKeown, my teacher and mentor, and one of the world’s leading breathing experts. I’m delighted to share it with you here.
MyoTape sits around the lips, not over them. It activates the ring of muscle around your mouth (orbicularis oris), encouraging your lips to rest together naturally. Unlike other tapes, you can still open your mouth if needed. It helps reduce snoring and dry mouth by keeping breathing where it belongs — through the nose.
The Buteyko method trains your brain’s breathing centre to reset its “factory settings,” so your everyday breathing becomes lighter, slower, and nasal. Over-breathing, which is common, lowers carbon dioxide levels and can interfere with oxygen delivery to tissues. Buteyko restores this balance. MyoTape supports the process at night, while Buteyko exercises do the deeper work during the day.
Most people don’t, because the lips aren’t sealed shut. Ease in: try it for a daytime rest, then part of the night, then longer. With time, most find it surprisingly comfortable.
Yes. MyoTape complements CPAP or mandibular devices by reducing “mouth leaks” and encouraging nasal breathing, which can make treatment more effective. If your nose is blocked, fix the nose first. Never tape when nasal breathing isn’t possible.
Pick the size that fits your face; if unsure, a sampler helps. Beards are fine — apply the tape just around the lips. If you have sensitive skin, patch-test first and remove gently in the morning.
Some notice less snoring and a moister mouth within a few nights; for others, improvements unfold over weeks. Look for better sleep quality, less waking, and feeling fresher in the morning. For lasting change — especially if you have snoring, sleep apnoea, or anxiety — breathing retraining is essential.
Not quite. MyoTape is a helpful tool, but the real shift comes from retraining your brain’s respiratory centre. By gradually adapting it to higher carbon dioxide levels and steadier nasal breathing, your body “resets” its breathing patterns. That’s exactly what my courses guide you through. MyoTape plus Buteyko practice = the complete package for better sleep, calmer days, and healthier breathing.
If you’re unsure on sizing, start with a sampler. If you’re ready to commit, pair MyoTape with a Buteyko course or guided sessions. Small habit, big payoff — and for the whole story, join me in a course where we recalibrate breathing at its source.
