Consultations

The first consultation will take one hour. In this consultation, a full case history is taken, including where relevant: health history, diet, family history, tongue diagnosis and iridology (iris diagnosis). Any relevant blood tests or medical reports, please email a scanned (pdf) copy to Mim prior to the consultation, or bring along a copy to your appointment.
Treatment varies according to the condition and individual requirements and preferences. Mim believes health is a team effort… with you at the centre. Mim will discuss your treatment plan and goals with you at the end of each consultation. Treatment may include for example a change in diet, a herbal remedy or supplement, a referral (eg physiotherapist), breathing exercises or simply patting your cat!
At the end of the consultation, you will receive a printed treatment plan (this can also be emailed to you). The treatment plan contains a summary of the consultation, including appropriate dietary changes, supplements and lifestyle suggestions. It also outlines the goals and timeframe for improvement.
Further consultations allow one hour. Although every person and condition is different, generally the first consultation is followed by a second consultation 1, 2 or 4 weeks later. This may be sufficient. If not, further consultations may be required. Mim is aware that naturopathic consultations are an investment of time and money. Every effort is made to tailor make the treatment to suit your lifestyle, time commitments and budget.
Short consultations are also available. Mim will advise when a short consultation is all you require. Consultations are via zoom or phone Mondays – Saturdays and you can also see Mim in person in her Bowral clinic in the Southern Highlands of NSW from Thursday – Saturday.
For reasons of distance or circumstances, telephone or Zoom (Similar to Skype) consultations are available, although it’s always preferable if possible for the initial consultation to be face-to-face. Phone and Zoom consultations work surprisingly well. We book a time for the hour-long consultation that suits you from work or home. I then give you a call (or send an email with a link to Zoom – you just need to click the link) at the appointed time. At the end of the consultation, I outline your health goals and recommend what you need to do or take. I then send you a summary of these recommendations by email, as well as your receipt to claim from your health fund. Payment can be by credit card or direct debit. If required, medicines can be sent from the clinic, or via vital.ly, an internet-based supplier of practitioner supplements. The charge for telephone or Zoom consultations are the same as in clinic. Please be aware of time-zone differences. AEST is the time-zone used in clinic booking software.
Communication is very important to the healing process. If you have any questions or changes to your health between consultations please do not hesitate to contact Mim. It is much better to have a quick chat or email at the time rather than wait until the next consultation. Please do not text messages (only email) as all correspondence will be recorded in your case file. There is no charge for this service.
All accounts are to be paid at the time of consultation. Payment may be made using cash, cheque (Payable to Beaming with Health Pty Ltd), EFTPOS, debit card, credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) or direct debit ANZ Beaming with Health Pty Ltd. BSB 012547 Acc 192900395
Depending on your medical insurance cover, nutrition consultations are claimable. Please use your receipt to claim. Medicines generally are not claimable from health funds.
Due to difficulty in filling consultations at late notice, appointments cancelled within 48 hours may attract a cancellation fee of $100.

Access to Mim’s Bowral clinic is via a set of stairs. Please contact Mim if this is an issue for you, as she has access to a room close by which is on street level, and just needs a couple of days notice to organise this.
